Smells like Christmas

It was the first really cool day after 4 months of hot summer temperatures, and when we stepped outside early in the morning, my daughter said,

"Ooh, it smells like Christmas!"

The Moon

My mother was sitting for my son, and  she took him out to look at the full moon in the night sky. She was holding him, and he looked up in awe as she told him that was the moon. He then looked back at her and said sadly,

"Grandma, I can't have the moon."

I Eat Turkey

We were visiting a petting zoo and we came upon a turkey (which happens to be her favorite protein).
Gabby: "What's that, mommy?"
Me: "A turkey."
Gabby: "I eat it!"

Heart Hugs

My 3-year-old son and I were quietly reading our books on the couch on warm summer day when he looked up at me and said,

"Know what just happened Mom?"  No, I said, and he told me "My heart just jumped out of my tummy and hugged your heart."

There's a house in our yard!

During some construction on our street a port-a-potty was placed in our front yard one day. When my daughter looked out the window and saw it, she said,

"Mommy, there's a HOUSE in our front yard!"
